The meeting of machines on a narrow sidewalk, not enough room to avoid confrontation. I say, he who flies the flag gets the honors. Los Angeles/Echo Park, CA.

North of Yosemite
Just north of Yosemite. The real meets the ideal. I honestly do not know which representation is better.
Dust Bowl Blues
South of Fresno, CA (Fall 2010) a couple cars parked off the highway next to the fill-er-up. Dust caked and time baked to distinction. Ultimately bound for glory in my book. Nice juxtaposition with the Christmas lights permanently fixed to the house.

FotoGrafia – Festival Internazionale di Roma 2010
Received word from curator Marc Prust that I have been chosen to be a part of this year’s FotoGrafia Festival Internazionale di Roma, September 23 thru October 24 2010 at the MACRO Testaccio in Rome with the photobook below. The theme of this 9th edition of FotoGrafia is FUTURESPECTIVES, or “Can photography interpret the future?” Stand by for more details.
UPDATE: images sent to Rome for show prep. Tried to get a flight to opening but airfare is waaaay too expensive.
International Bigtime Wrestling Selects
Finally, a few selects from last year’s International Bigtime Wrestling event in Mexicantown, Detroit. There was wonderful food, fake blood (no really), fantastic showmanship, and some menacing escaped convicts just hanging out with the kids. Originally posted about this back in July, 2009.
Waiting For Lens Calibration
Finally, the old Summicron-M 2/35 is getting a much needed tune up at Leica NJ: focus calibration, focus mount fix, general cleaning and the all-new 6 bit coding. Got it used in 2000 (I think) in Kalamazoo and really never had it checked out. I remember screwing down a loose base plate in ’04 with tweezers “in the field” in Ketchum, ID. 4-6 weeks ETA.
