Winner in 7th Annual International Color Awards

Just stumbled onto the knowledge I was chosen (back in May) as “3rd Place – Honor of Distinction” in the 7th Annual International Color Awards “People Category” with the following image of the famous San Francisco Twins. Also discovered I received 4 nominations in “Still Life” and 4 more nominations in “Americana”. Not bad for never getting the original notification…check out all the winners & nominations in the gallery or download The Journal pdf.

Morgan Freeman, Bird Feeder

Early morning in front of Grauman’s Chinese Theater in Hollywood, a pigeon drinks water and eats bread crumbs from the tender cement prints of Morgan Freeman, Bird Feeder. Part of my Hollywood 2012 series at mvlimbert.com.

Give Me Liberty…Or Just The 1%

“Occupy Ann Arbor” is setting up shoppe in the aptly-named Liberty Plaza in Ann Arbor, MI. Let’s read some of the advertisements they have on display: “6PM Sign Making & Protest Songs”; “Power To The People”; and something about “Stop Spoiling Our Environment”.

Now, let us view the scene (click to enlarge):

Here Comes “The Sun”, Issue 431

Back from Chicago’s Black Cloud Gallery and the Beginnings exhibition opening with my flag photo (thanks all, wonderful time) and I find a packet in the mail of The Sun Magazine copies (thanks Sun!) with a photo of mine inside. Sent it a couple years ago, a familiar sight in Santa Monica for anyone who has spent months of their life there. November 2011 issue, page 28.

Scorned on the 4th of July

A couple images of abandonment, not in architecture, but humanity. Downtown Detroit at a July 4th celebration years ago…
