Merry Christmas, heading into 2012, a year I never thought would come. Meanwhile downtown Detroit, a streetside window on Woodward sends it’s bright light holiday chill into the air. Plenty of seats left for singing, souping and lecturing.

Out now at Blurb…my new photobook “rangefound“. Images from rangefound.com with many previously unpublished shots. 64 pages, designed for ProLine uncoated stock (which turned out to be a really nice, smooth matte paper). Click below and go check out the preview at Blurb.
Give Me Liberty…Or Just The 1%
“Occupy Ann Arbor” is setting up shoppe in the aptly-named Liberty Plaza in Ann Arbor, MI. Let’s read some of the advertisements they have on display: “6PM Sign Making & Protest Songs”; “Power To The People”; and something about “Stop Spoiling Our Environment”.
Now, let us view the scene (click to enlarge):
Here Comes “The Sun”, Issue 431
Back from Chicago’s Black Cloud Gallery and the Beginnings exhibition opening with my flag photo (thanks all, wonderful time) and I find a packet in the mail of The Sun Magazine copies (thanks Sun!) with a photo of mine inside. Sent it a couple years ago, a familiar sight in Santa Monica for anyone who has spent months of their life there. November 2011 issue, page 28.

Waiting On The 9…Almost Over
The M9 is backordered – although ordered – and the 35mm is still at Leica NJ for calibration and restoration (since January). If anyone is interested, the M8 (with new M8.2 shutter and corrected framelines) may soon be on ebay.
UPDATE: the M9 arrived but like so many things in life that have to be done at least 2 times before it can be right), it went back with a sensor/processor error and should be back next week. 35mm lens back and now wonderfully accurate. A difference of night & day.
There Are 9 Million New Yorkers…
And all of them were out this last weekend due to extremely pleasant temps in the 70s. Mr. Softies were on patrol as well. Now if we can just find this dog and cat a home we’d be in business.
Reminds me a little of this “portrait” I did years ago for a friend…
The Eyes Have It
Was tying my shoe when I got the feeling I was being watched…surveillance camera on a pole in front of a painted pair of eyes, 3rd St. Promenade in Santa Monica, California.
